Black dog at night

Well, I just took Pedro out. You all remember him, he's 4 pounds and is black and tan. He hasn't had his collar on most of the weekend since I noticed a few bumps on his neck the other day. I'm not sure if they are from the collar or because him and another dog like to play rough with each other.

I went out with him just a bit ago and he took off after a cat across the street. Normally I can stop him before he gets to the street or stops when the cat jumps into a tree along the way. This time, however, neither of those happened and the cat ran into the yard across the street. Pedro decided to follow it in. After a couple of minutes of waiting and calling for my dog I decide that I might need to walk around the neighborhood to look for him so I go in and get my flashlight and head out with that and his collar.

I walk around a couple of blocks whistling and shaking the collar and don't find him. I figure that he knows the way home and if he isn't stuck in some random yard he would go back. Sure enough, I came walking up the driveway and he started barking at me from the back yard. I'm going to be sure and get the collar back on him before he goes out in the morning to chase cats, that way I can hear him in the neighborhood.
